This mode can really help you hone your skills and be much more competitive in the career mode, but you’ll want to invest quite a bit of time to do so. Needless to say, you’ll need quite a bit of practice to be able to podium in some of these tournaments, and you may want to try out the other modes first.ĭroid Rush mode is a great way to learn how to return the tennis balls more accurately, and at specific targets. The opponents start out easy enough, but get harder as you progress. ![]() Tennis League VR offers several types of game play and after spending several hours with the ball cannon and in the tutorial modes, we felt confident enough to start our career. Next Tennis League VR Review – Game Types That percentage become a contest between us in itself. We did slowly get better and out of 100 shots, several of us were hitting around 85% successfully. Several of us took turns practicing with the ball cannon in practice mode trying to perfect our returns. It was either a lob that barely cleared the net, or another homerun. We had a hard time, again, just serving the ball normally. Serving the ball has you tossing the ball up in the air with your off-hand, and then swinging your racket hand at the ball. The physics could definitely use some tweaking, and that’s disappointing. The difference between a lob and a line drive is so minute, that we were slowing our hand way down so as not to hit the ball into the next county. We barely moved our hand to return a serve and the ball would take off like we were trying to hit a homerun in a baseball game. Moving from the back court to charging the net just requires pressing either A or B so that was simple enough, but actually hitting the ball is where the game can get crazy. Jumping into the tutorials for Tennis League VR gave us our first taste of how finicky the controls for the game can be. We did try out the free demo a few months ago and liked where the game was headed. There have only been a couple of VR tennis games that actually put you into the game so we were excited to try out Tennis League VR on our Meta Quest 2 headset. Tennis video games haven been around for some time with almost all of them being controlled with a regular controller.
